Fibroids affect a lot of women in their 30's. It causes excessive bleeding, irregular bleeding, pain, infertility, etc. So do all fibroids need surgery. No they don't. Fibroids are benign (Non cancerous) tumors that grow very slowly. Because of their benign nature they need to be treated only when necessary. There are a lot of treatment options available - medicines, surgery , IUCD (intrauterine contraceptive device), etc. Types of treatment depends on the goal we want to achieve, is it for fertility, is it to relieve symptoms.
