Rich source of protein, fibre, antioxidants, flavonoids, calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, manganese, Vitamin C and B6 and several other nutrients. The seeds of the fruit too are nutrient dense ! They contain substances called jamboline and jambosine, which slow down the release of sugar into the blood. They also increase the availability of insulin, thus helping control blood sugar levels. Make jamun seed powder & store for all the year round use ! 1. Separate the seeds from the fruit. Wash well - make sure that no fleshy part of the fruit remains 2. Spread the seeds on a clean cloth & sun dry for 3-4 days 3. Once dried, peel off the outer shell. Keep just the green inner core of the seeds. 4. Break this core into half by pressing the seeds. Sun-dry them again for a few more days 5. Once dried thoroughly, powder them in a grinder 6. Sieve the coarse powder repeatedly until very fine 7. Store in an air tight container. Mix 1 tsp in a glass of water, consume empty stomach
