Affirmations are positive brief phrases which are repeated frequently to encourage, motivate or boost self esteem. MRI evidence has shown that certain neural pathways are increased when people practice self affirmations regularly, basically laying tracks in one’s brain to affirm certain thinking patterns- be it about healing, positive thinking or hopeful narratives about oneself.
