Hi Anant! Yes it's true that diabetes & high bp go hand in hand. Hypertension increases risk of developing diabetes & vice versa. The first reason for this, is that both are lifestyle diseases & share the same risk factors & causes. Like- being obese, leading a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy eating habits etc. And another reason can be insulin resistance, people with hypertension can develop insulin resistance causing diabetes.

I heard that having high bp increases the risk of having diabetes too..is this true?
