Thyroid and children
If I have thyroid, is there any way to make sure my children don't get it?

Hi Riya. Genetics plays an important role in determining thyroid hormone formation & functioning. So, introducing certain precautionary changes in your children's diet, early in life may be a good option of controlling the onset or avoiding the thyroid issue from occurring itself !! Ensure well balanced, colorful meals. Include fresh fruits & vegetables. Use goitrogenous foods like cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, soybean, radish, turnip moderately. Goitrogenous foods are known to slow down the thyroid gland function. Apart from balanced meals, make sure they get their dose of vitamin D through sunlight, diet( walnuts, fish, sunflower seeds) or supplements ( if required) . Regular physical activity is also of key importance in keeping this gland functioning well !!
