Palak paneer, just the name of this dish makes us drool. We enjoy eating it thinking that it's nutritious as it contains IRON rich palak and CALCIUM rich paneer. Firstly, spinach is not a source of iron 🙊. 100g of spinach contains 2.7 mg of iron which is way too less to be considered as an iron rich source, it's a great source of beta-carotene, which is VITAMIN A . Secondly, spinach contains some anti-nutrients like phytates and oxalates. These oxalates prevent the absorption of calcium from paneer and not only this, eating this combination can lead to the formation of Calcium-oxalate stones, which is the most common type of a kidney stone. So think twice before eating palak paneer the next time!
