Meditating, or no?

Question - How do I know if I'm actually meditating?

When you are in the present moment completely, without worrying about the past or future. This can happen in different ways, like for example when you are playing a football game or some find it when jogging, some find it while holding a posture and focusing on the breath, etc. So it's important to know that meditation doesn't happen only in the traditional sitting position while being focused on the breath ( it can happen like this as well)
