Is dhokla healthy?
Ordered some dhokla today, can it be consumed when one is trying to lose weight
Dhokla prepared outside are usually made using baking soda and sometimes sugar and oil content is high so having too much quantity will not be a great idea. Consuming 2 pcs twice a month is fine. Also, if you deal with High blood pressure then the consumption should be restricted to just once a month.
Just to add on to What Sakina said, if you're preparing dhokla at home either using gram flour or whole pulses, it can be pretty healthy. This way you can control the salt & oil content. You can even add seasonal shredded vegetables in the batter to make it high in fiber, definitely helpful for weight loss.
