Yes you can have cakes this holiday even while being on a weight reduction diet. Here you can see my 2 freshly baked cakes. The one on the left is a chocolate & mixed nuts cake, the one on the right is a fruit & nuts cake. First of all homemade cakes are definitely a better choice rather than store bought cream or fondant cakes. Some more small healthy swaps can make your cakes healthier as well:- •using whole wheat atta rather than refined flour. •for naturally derived sweetness dates/raisins/bananas can be used. •try swapping eggs with low fat milk or curd. A proper ratio can still keep your cakes moist. •use less amount of fat in the batter. It's good to substitute butter with oil. • refrain from using too much baking soda/powder. • unhealthy toppings can be swapped with fresh fruits or nuts or be totally avoided. •the biggest tip here is to have a good portion control.
