The reason is because jaggery is not a safe alternative to sugar, neither is honey! Unfortunately yes it's true. 📍 Jaggery has a very high glycemic index of 84.4. The impact of jaggery on blood sugar levels can be as bad as white sugar, hence it is deemed unsafe for diabetics( So is taking tea multiple times every day👎). Rather than taking your beverages with jaggery, use natural sugars like-cardamom, cinnamon, dates or raisins to give off a natural sweetness.
