Should you avoid POTATOES if you’re diabetic or trying to lose weight? The answer is no. You do not need to avoid potatoes if you’re diabetic or watching your weight. Just like any other starch or cereal, the body’s response to potatoes depends on how much is being consumed and in what way. So controlling the portion and pairing it up with fibre & protein is what will prevent the blood sugar spike.
