There are five main areas that store stress 1. Jaw/neck/face 2. Shoulders 3. Diaphragm 4. Stomach/gut 5. Lower back & hips Stress can cause your muscles to tense up & can lead to pain & soreness in different parts of the body. Take a moment to be mindful of what you’re doing right now. Are you slouching? Can you feel that tension in your neck & shoulders that is keeping you from living your best life? Follow these simple steps to release the tension - Close your eyes & focus on your breathing. Take slow, deep breaths. - Slowly relax all the muscles in your face, starting from your forehead moving downward over your cheeks, mouth, jaws, tongue & the muscles around your eyes. - Work your way down to relax your neck, shoulders,& arms. - Relax your chest, abdomen,& pelvis. Then focus on legs, your thigh, knee, calf, ankle, feet & toes. Keep stress & its affect on your body at bay by taking time out of every day to focus on you. Try some deep breathing go for a walk,& of course, focus on stretching.
